Jasmine Rice LaBeija is a Juilliard-trained operatic tenor, internationally acclaimed drag performer, and one of New York City’s most iconic nightlife entertainers. She is the first drag artist to ever make it to the finals on Britain’s Got Talent (2025) and is a golden buzzer recipient. A proud Korean-American and the International Godmother of the Royal House of LaBeija, she is celebrated for her powerhouse vocals, radiant stage presence, and genre-defying artistry that bridges opera, drag, theater, and global entertainment.
Now stepping confidently onto the international stage, Jasmine was invited by Yale University to give a featured recital and headline Hartford Pride this year. In the 25/26 season she will be returning to The Guggenheim Museum for the Works & Process Holiday Concert, be a guest art for Art Bath’s performances in New York City and will be performing with The Bearded Ladies in the abandoned Macy’s building in Philadelphia.
As a performer, Jasmine has appeared at major venues including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, The Shell, and other prominent stages across the U.S. and abroad. She captivated audiences as a special guest soloist with the San Diego Symphony alongside Broadway star Megan Hilty under the baton of Rob Fisher, and has given acclaimed solo recitals at both Lincoln Center and The Guggenheim—affirming her extraordinary range as a crossover artist.
Beyond opera, Jasmine is a beloved staple of NYC nightlife, known for weekly shows that attract celebrity audiences including Loren Allred, Tom Daley, and Chappell Roan. She starred in the Emmy-winning short film Inside & Outwards narrated by Sarah Jessica Parker, hosted Verizon’s Shorty Award–winning series Dragged, and made her Off-Broadway debut as Hillary Clinton in Five: The Parody Musical. She has also appeared in notable film work showcased at the Tribeca Film Festival, and served as the face of NYC Pride 2020.
Jasmine’s classical foundation began at The Juilliard School, where she performed the role of Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and gave her debut recital in Weill Hall. She went on to sing Podestà in Juilliard’s production of La finta giardiniera before continuing her operatic training at Mannes, performing Stravinsky’s Mavra and covering the Male Chorus in Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia. She later appeared as Cavaliere Belfiore in Rossini’s Il viaggio a Reims with Mannes Opera and attended the Music Academy of the West, where she covered Remendado in Carmen and returned to perform Prince Ramiro in Rossini’s La Cenerentola. She was also selected to participate in The Song Continues masterclass series at Carnegie Hall with internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter.
With a career that blends classical excellence, drag brilliance, and theatrical innovation, Jasmine Rice LaBeija stands as one of the most compelling and multifaceted performers of her generation—captivating audiences worldwide with her singular voice and unmistakable presence.
